looksmaxxing but good
been thinking about this lately. there's something about actually taking care of yourself, like genuinely, that shifts how you see things. i spent years letting myself go because i thought caring about how i looked was vain or whatever. turns out neglecting yourself is its own kind of pride, like you're above putting in the work. now i'm working out, eating better, actually grooming myself properly and it's not about vanity at all. it's respect. respect for the body you've been given. makes you feel more present too, more grounded. anyone else find that taking the looksmaxx route actually deepened their faith instead of competing with it?
Morning routine suggestions?
I'm trying to lock in a solid morning routine that actually sticks. Right now I'm doing some basic skincare and cold showers but I feel like I'm missing something. What does everyone's morning look like? Specifically looking for stuff that doesn't require crazy equipment or take forever but actually moves the needle. Also curious if anyone here combines this with prayer or spiritual practice in the morning. I've been doing the Rosary after my workout and it's been pretty grounding, just wondering what others are doing.

Recap
There's probably a lot I'm missing. When in doubt just message me or ask yourself, "Is this something an autistic MemeLord who is ridiculously good looking would wear?" or "Do I look like a douchebag who would pay $200 to get my oil changed?" Don't fall for trends, stick to classic looks, don't wear clothing that super skin tight, but let your muscles show. Don't be flashy, don't purposely dress to attract a woman's gaze, but once her eye is on you, make it so she can't look away. Lastly, be confident, be masculine, be yourself. Dress to impress, give your grandkids some cool pictures to look at one day. Let me know if you have any questions, my DM's are always open.
Sweaters
I recommend some basic solid sweaters in colder dark colors, blues, greys, etc. Maybe a red one thrown in. Get a couple with wintery patterns too eventually, great to wear over a dress shirt and a tie.
T Shirts
Everybody needs some basic t shirts. Black, white, and gray. These can be worn by themselves, or with a blazer/vest. Additionally, some v-neck undershirts are helpful for wearing under dress shirts, especially when traveling to give you more use out of a single shirt.
Underwear
Nobody will see this, except yourself and your wife if you’re married. Go for something comfortable that makes you feel confident. I prefer Calvin Klein modal boxer briefs because I think I look like a super model when I put them on every morning upon getting out of the shower and that boost of confidence helps me start my day.
Sunglasses
Honestly, a nice pair of sunglasses really completes a look, and protects your eyes from the sun or the wind depending on the day. Otherwise just keep them clipped to the front of your shirt for a nice classic look. Personally, I recommend a pair of basic aviators or wayfarers myself, they tend to be pretty forgiving with what shape heads can wear them.
Pocket Squares
Hop on Amazon, but a collection of like 2 dozen pocket squares for $30 and a plastic pocket square holder and add them to your outfit every time you wear a blazer. The pocket square shouldn’t be identical to the tie (unless you’re wearing a solid-colored tie- then it can) so you can play around with compliment/contrasting colors/patterns.
Suspenders
Boy, do trads love these. The first and ONLY rule, do NOT wear clip on suspenders, only wear traditional suspenders with buttons that you sewed on yourself into your pants. (Men need to be able to sew on buttons). It doesn’t matter if they have a “Y” back or an “X” back. Also don’t wear a belt if you have suspenders on.
Rings
I’m always wearing 2 rings when I’m not at work. One is my high school class ring, and the second is my Order of the Engineer ring. I wear my class ring to remember that no matter where I am, what city/country I’m in, who I’m dealing with in corporate meetings, or however high and mighty I feel, that I’m just a guy from a cornfield. A small podunk town that wasn’t important at all, the type of town that everybody wanted to leave, (but it seems that most never did). It keeps me humble (surprisingly I can be humble). My Engineer’s ring I wear because I am proud to be an engineer, and it makes for an interesting conversation piece, especially sitting next to other engineers on airplanes. Both rings are silver colored (stainless and an alloy) and not super flashy and fit in nicely with typical outfits.
Tie clips/tie chains, and cufflinks
If I’m wearing a tie and my shirt has barrel cuffs (no cufflinks) I typically go for a gold or gunmetal tie chain. Simple, holds my tie, and not flashy. If my shirt has French cuffs and I need cufflinks, I have a number of cufflink and tie clip sets that I’ll wear. Or sometimes wear a random tie clip that I have and cufflinks that somewhat match. It’s best if they somewhat all go together in my opinion. I personally try not to wear a gold tie chain with a shirt that has French cuffs, simply because I think too much gold gets a little flashy at that point, but it depends on the designs.
Watches
I’m a practical guy, I normally wear an Apple Watch (3rd gen?) because I can have a custom watchface with Our Lady of Czestochowa on it and I can easily check my notifications without taking my phone out. (Don’t want to be rude whipping out my phone at times). Otherwise, I’d recommend a nice analog watch that simply looks nice, nothing fancy or flashy. Honestly, a Chinese knockoff submariner is more than enough. Nobody can tell at a distance what brand it is, and it’ll still keep the time without breaking the bank.
Belts
Tan(cognac) brown, dark brown, black. Those 3. No more, no less. I find cloth belts to look pompous. Your leather should match, i.e. light brown belt and light brown shoes. (It’s okay if it’s not a 100% perfect match, just get it close.)
