5/31 homily
I forgot to ask, what was last Sunday’s homily about at your parish? I just watched Bishop Robert Barron’s homily for last Sunday and it was exceptional. He explained the trinity and our need to understand it in light of salvation. We are all dependent on each person of the trinity. God sent his son to speak to us and the Holy Spirit now guides us into all truth. I’d definitely recommend you watch it. It is titled, The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
5-17-26 The Ascension of the Lord!
Summary of parish priest’s homily: Jesus had to leave yet, he did not leave us orphans. The Holy Spirit was sent to be with us, guide, and comfort us. And so Jesus fulfills everything he says. He said he would be with his disciples to the end of the age. And that hope that Christ brought is what we are to bring to others. The world is filled with darkness through illness, anxiety, depression, violent, etc. And we, on whom the light has shone can shine that light on others and bring hope to the hopeless. If anyone heard Bishop Robert Barron’s homily this is the part that stood out to me. He said, don't just stand there like the disciples looking up. Jesus will return just as he left. Instead do the work the Spirit is telling you to do. Find out what work that is and do it. God be with us all. Blessings. Gloria in excelsis Deo!

Happy Day of the Lord, brethren. The readings for today were Acts 8:5-8, 14-17 and 1 Peter 3:15-18. Gospel John 14:15-21 In his homily my parish priest included a section about mothers since it is Mother’s Day. As I am sure you are well aware, a mother’s love is used as an analogy to God’s love. “Truth and love go hand and hand” was a highlight of the homily. People might not like truth because it hurts but it is necessary in the Christian life. Just like rebuke which should be done with love. Just as our parents rebuke us so the Father rebuked us with the end goal of brining us to salvation and edification. What was your homily about today? Post it beneath this post so others can read it :) God bless. Ave Christus Rex!
Greetings
